The Best In Visual Search Technology

Visual search is a normal part of a person’s perception that is used to identify specific objects. This visual process is typically carried out whenever a person scans an area or a series of objects to locate one specific item. All people use this visual practice whenever they search for lost objects or try to find people within a crowd.

Technology that mimics this process has been developed and is now being implemented in a lot of warehousing and retail establishments. Visual search technology is used to count products, to find specific brands out of a group, for locating suspected criminals and for biometric applications.
Search Types

There are three basic scanning methods that is used for visual search and they include:

1. Conjunction Search

This method requires a visual device to scan for objects that are similar in shape, color, size and form. This scanning method takes more time to complete since the targeted objects (items that have to be found) are nearly identical. This method is also known as inefficient search.

2. Feature Search

Feature search requires scanners to locate objects that have a different shape, color and form. Since objects are not similar in form they can be quickly identified with this method. Feature search is the easiest and quickest visual search technology and it is also known as efficient search.

3. Image Search

Image search requires a huge database of pictures so that scanning device or person can scan or upload an image file to find a match. It will also use descriptions, classifications and links to help find images. Image search usually takes place on two levels. One method compares the entire unknown image with the next and the other compares parts or regions of an unknown image. This type of visual search technology is now being developed at a great pace.

Visual search technology is being developed by companies such as Slyce which is a visual search provider for retailers and brands. They use apps and image based technology to connect shoppers with products and important brand information. Consumers will be able to snap a product and then purchase it with some of Slyce’s technology.

Retailers can also use Slyce’s technology for social media tagging and display campaigns and convert physical advertising into digital information about products and brands for consumers. Slyce provides these visual technology services and many more for any business in need. Visual search technology is on the rise and the technology is currently one of the most useful tools for e-commerce and other technology based applications.

Guns N’ Roses’ Guitarist Gets Into A Scuffle

The rumors about heavy metal musicians giving up their wayward ways of the 1980’s and 1990’s are false. Just ask Guns N’ Roses’ guitarist DJ Ashba about that. He recently got into a major fight over an e-cigarette. If you didn’t know Ashba is the current guitarist for the band, you are not alone. There have been so many lineup changes, even diehard GNR fans have lost count. There might even be a few more members in and out of the band by the time you read this.

In all seriousness, Ashba was “vaping” at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas and enjoying a concert put on by Romeo Santos. Another concertgoer, Brad Reifler, was less than thrilled about the water vapor hitting him the face, words were exchanged, and a scuffle broke out. Websites are picking up the reports, although major news outlets are ignoring it. Some might say this is because Guns N’ Roses’ star has fallen so much over the past 20 years no mainstream interest exists. To a certain degree, that is true. Also true is the fact that hard rock and heavy metal as a whole has shrunk back to the niche it once possessed prior to the 1980’s revolution.

Tales about fistfights and brawls used to translate into a lot of buzz and boosted record/CD sales. Not so much today.

Ashba has noted that there is going to be a new Guns N’ Roses album coming out. He said the band has a lot of great new material and it just needs to be recorded. We can always hope when the new material comes out it brings back some great memories of the glory days of hard rock.

The finale also hinted at this direction when the helmet of the original and Earth 2 Flash, Jay Garrick, fell out of the wormhole. This suggested that Barry might meet Garrick next season on Earth 2. The writers have also stated that they will definitely be exploring the African-American version of “The Flash” named Wally West from The New 52 series.

While racing into the past, Barry also saw potential futures, including one in which Caitlin Snow becomes the villain known as Killer Frost from The New 52 “Justice League of America #7.2 / Killer Frost #1” comic.

Avenger’s Sequel Breaks All Records Except One

The new Marvel movie, “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” has succeeded in being the summer’s first blockbuster film by topping the US and Canadian box office receipts at $191.3 million (USD or £126.5 million). This is the second biggest movie opening weekend ever in the United States. Ironically, Age of Ultron failed to surpass the original record breaker opening of the first Avengers movie. The original took in $207.4 million (USD or £137.2 million) during its 2012 opening debut. Regardless of not breaking the weekend record, Age of Ultron crushed its weekend competition, the second place film was “Age of Adaline,” took in just $6.3 million (USD or £4.2 million).Marvel Disney Offering Avengers: Age of Ultron A Smash

The latest edition from the Marvel/Disney Film shop also continued to dominate world wide. It was the leading film in the United Kingdom for the second week in a row and completed the weekend with a gross of $631.1 million (USD or £417.5 million) globally to date.

Many film analysts and movie economist believe that Age of Ultron would have done even better but for the supreme number of quality sporting events which took place on the same weekend. Follow Brian Torchin on Google Plus to get his opinions on the matter. This included the Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao’s Las Vegas boxing match, the 141st running of the Kentucky Derby and a thrilling NBA playoff game 7 between the Los Angeles Clippers and the San Antonio Spurs.

Has The True Fate Of Agent Carter Been Sealed?

So, what will be the fate of Agent Carter on ABC? The answer to that question is not only something fans want to know, but all the people involved with the production are asking the same question. Star Hayley Atwell has noted a decision on renewing the program for a second season is going to be made within a few weeks. That is not the best sign for the show. The series ran 8 episodes during the debut season and, if the show was a real hit, then a second season would have been ordered immediately. Obviously, that has not happened and no decision regarding a renewal has been made.

Sad to say, Agent Carter was not exactly a really great show. The program did attempt to draw in fans of superhero films by displaying the early adventures of SHIELD through the exploits of Agent Carter. The trouble with the premise is we do not get any superheroes. Besides, Agents of SHEILD already provides fans with a little insight into the adventures of the spy team. Was there really a need for a second show set decades in the past?

Had the quality of the show been something special, then fans probably would be rallying behind it. Overall, Agent Carter is a pretty average show and fans of superhero and Marvel programming want something a lot better than average.

Flávio Pentagna Guimarães BMG learned through an ABC article that a cancellation sentence has not been pronounced on the show just yet. For good news to surface, however, the show-runners definitely have to provide compelling evidence the show is going to be able to overcome the hurdles that have sandbagged the series.

Will Scribd Free Download Ruin Copyright Infringement Claim?

On Wednesday, April 15, fans of Joss Whedon, Drew Goddard and Lionsgate were surprised when an author named Peter Gallagher filed a copyright infringement claim for $10 million. Gallagher noted the horror film “The Cabin in the Woods” had a striking number of similarities to his self-published book “The Little White Trip: A Night In the Pines,” including not only overall plot and horror trope similarities, but scene-by-scene, sequence of event, characterization, gender, name and clothing ones.

Many readers of the book agree with Gallagher, but others have pointed out that the book can be found free online onScribd and Gallagher should have no claim as a result.

Gallagher’s claim covers loss of revenues since 2012. The free copy may also be a case of copyright infringement — it’s unknown if Gallagher uploaded it or one of his readers. Christian Broda (linkedin) knows that, even if Gallagher did it, he published the print version of the book in 2006, which can be seen next to the copyright symbol on page six of the electronic copy. Additionally, a free copyrighted work is not fair game for Internet users to re-copy and distribute as they see fit. Those who believe the claim may be legit have also noted that Whedon, specifically, has been accused of infringement in the past with BtVS and Firefly. With Firefly, the Firefly universe, story and characters are strikingly similar to the Japanese anime Outlaw Star.
